is Sport
Karate?
Influenced
by the art of Karate, Sport Karate
is a martial arts system, that maintains
the traditions of Japanese Karate,
but uses modern methods of instruction
and self-defence techniques. Classes
give both a great aerobic and anaerobic
workout and will also develop speed,
flexibility, strength and co-ordination.
What happens
in a class?
Classes last one hour and begin
with a full body stretch. Once properly
warmed up, students are taught basic
punches, kicks and combinations.
Attack and defence techniques are
then practiced with a partner.
Will
I get hurt?
We maintain the highest
standards of safety in our classes,
so you can learn in a safe and fun
environment. Sparring is light contact,
to increase confidence and technique.
